A month off!

My winter break has officially begun!!! Yesterday was my last day of the WIC rotation. There was a staff meeting downtown that I got to go to, where all the Houston Department of Health WIC staff met and then we went to the Museum of Natural Science butterfly exhibit, then out to lunch at the "Breakfast Klub" (interesting LUNCH place). We had a nice little detour getting to our lunch destination--we took the metro from the museum to the restaurant area, but we didn't know where to go from the station so we ended up walking in a large circle--25 professional-looking women walking the streets of Houston--it was probably a sight to behold. The older ladies weren't too happy about the detour. When we got to the restaurant, the leader of our group told the restaurant greeter that we had reservations, and we are with the Houston Department of Health. I'm sure that gave them a little shock--inspections???!!

In honor of a month off of school, I spent all day today..... making holiday cookies!!! (I should have spent all day cleaning.) I made all sorts of varieties, and I will give them to the ladies I visit teach tomorrow (and our home teachers, and the people coming over, etc). They were pretty fun to make.
